During the Quebec election campaign of September 2026, the PLQ undertook to table, in the first year of its term, a bill regulating private platforms (extension of the mandate of the RACJ), and the PQ announced a similar commitment; the CAQ had voted in 2025, at its convention, in favour of strict rules. The Coalition québécoise du jeu en ligne [Quebec Online Gaming Coalition] calls for an Ontario-style licensing model; Loto-Québec is said to capture only 17% of the market. No framework adopted as at 25 September 2026. The blocking of sites by ISPs (2016 law) has been struck down by the courts.
